Starring Dominique Pinon and Fanny Ardant, French veteran Claude
Lelouch is at the top of his form in this playful romp that takes as
its premise that crime writer Judith (Fanny Ardant) may be using the
writings of a genuine serial killer to fill her popular novels. "I
hope that in [Roman de gare] you will find melodrama, comedy,
suspense, elements of the road movie, and the western-in short the
genres and the kinds of cinema that I have always loved more than
anything" (Claude Lelouch). Dominique Pinon will be performing live

Please join us for a reading of Tomboy by translators Marjorie
Attignol Salvodon and Jehanne-Marie Gavarini Tomboy, or Garçon
manqué, as it was originally titled in French, was written by Nina
Bouraoui and published in 2000. The French original was a bestseller.
The story is told from the unique perspective of an adolescent girl
who has a white French mother and an Algerian father. This
postcolonial French novel takes on profound social-political
significance because the narrator/author is born in 1967, five years
after the end of the Algerian War of Independence. The book entitled
Tomboy is the American version of Garçon Manqué by Nina Bouraoui,
recently published by the University of Nebraska Press.

links that existed between the the country of his ancesters, the
province of Quebec and Jack Kerouac. It will also focuses on
Kerouac's french writings, recently discovered in New York City.
